Note: An afternoon of remembrance is planned for Saturday, March 24, at Wellspring Conference Center at Dayspring in Germantown, Maryland. Questions can be directed to Church of the Saviour.

Our beloved Kayla McClurg, creator and editor of Inward/Outward, died in Washington, DC on January 6 following complications from congestive heart failure. She was at peace and was accompanied in her final days by an around-the-clock vigil of community members. She was four days short of her 63rd birthday.

Kayla was administrative assistant to Gordon Cosby following the death of Elizabeth O’Conner, and was later administrator of the Church of the Saviour. She was the resident hostess at Andrews House and spiritual mentor to many through her daily inspirational quotes and a weekly homily on her website, inwardoutward.org. Kayla was also minister at The Church of the Saviour, co-founder of Overlook Retreat House, and a gifted author, preacher, and teacher. Her most recent mission, with Trish Stefanik, was welcoming retreat participants to Overlook Retreat House at Dayspring Retreat Center in Germantown, Maryland.

Kayla was also the catalyst to get the website io-sermons.org in place and providing the audio of more than 2,200 sermons from Church of the Saviour. She was pleased to complete this project prior to the death of Gordon Cosby.
