The café is open 8am-11:30am every Friday in The Lodge of the Fishermen, 4415 Boonsboro Rd., Lynchburg.
The Common Grounds Café is a not-for-profit, caring community café that is a mission of the Church of the Covenant. Any surplus goes to support local children’s programs, such as Camp Kum-Ba-Yah.
We strive to be a safe space for people of all ages and from all walks of life to come together for reflection, conversation, inspiration, and community building. And free Wi-Fi is always available.
The all-volunteer cooking and serving staff offers mostly local, mostly organic food and drink.
The Every Friday menu includes: regular and decaf coffee, a variety of teas, apple and orange juice, oatmeal made with steel-cut oats and flavored with almonds and tart cherries, yogurt, fruit and granola parfaits, along with a selection of scones and muffins from Montana Plains Bakery.
A different In-house special is offered each week and includes dishes such as: many grains/no wheat blueberry pancakes, quiches, apple coffee cake, cheesy corn grits, egg casseroles, frittatas, and Italian-style poached eggs.
Donations for food and service are gratefully accepted.
We invite you to download and print out this one-page flyer. Hang it up at work!
